Global Warming is a Global Warning

A meteorologist warned that world temperatures continue to rise and that extreme drought and heavy rains have occurred in the country due to global climate change. For example, this year hot and dry weather lasted until June, but then began to appear in August from time to time with heavy rainfall. If people do not take action to reduce emissions, the temperature will rise and the situation will worsen.

The Causes Of Global Warming

In the picture above that I took on 8 AUG 2019, which is the National Day of Singapore.On the day my brother and I went to Singapore visit my aunt. Therefore, I saw this traffic jam for motorcycles and cars from the Singapore checkpoint to the Malaysian checkpoint. This is because everyone drives motorcycle or car for work or travel. In addition, when I traveled to Thailand, I saw a lot of traffic jam in Thailand. This shows a significant increase in air pollution.

Cars and Motorbike generate air pollution throughout their cycle life, including pollution from vehicle operations and fuel production. Additional emissions are related to the refining and distribution of the fuel and, to a lesser extent, to the manufacture and disposal of the vehicle. For the reason that cars are emissions carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOC), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and greenhouse gases.

Cars and motorbike emissions increase the amount of other greenhouse gases. Some of the sun’s heat in the atmosphere and help warm the planet. That is to say, burning fossil fuels such as gasoline will lead to a surge in greenhouse gas emissions, leading to global warming.

2. Air Conditioning

As above example shown, today’s air conditioners become a necessity because there are about 3-4 air conditioners in each house. In my own house, I have 4 air conditioners at home because I have a big family.

The hotter the weather, the more air conditioning units are working hard to keep people cool. As our planet warms, the demand for space cooling (air conditioning) will rise.

Therefore, dangerous heat waves may become more common, and as climate change continues, people will need to find ways to stay cool and safe. However, the main refrigerant used in air conditioning and refrigeration equipment is the organic compound hydrofluorocarbon (HFC). HFC is a more effective greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, and it leaks anywhere from manufacturing air conditioning equipment to installation to disposal of old equipment.

  Ways To Reduce Global Warming 

1. Use Public Transportation

People choose to live in well-planned towns with high-quality public transport, reducing driving, reducing fuel costs and reducing air pollution to cope with global warming. For example, I took a public bus from Kuala Lumpur to Johor. In addition, I also took the train to the city from Nilai to Mid Valley. In my opinion, taking the public transport in Malaysia is actually a challenge. Don’t you think so? But, if the public transportation system can be improved, everyone can use it and this will reduce the need for people to drive their own cars. This would be an ideal situation to reduce air pollution.

This is a video showing my journey taking the train from Midvalley to Nilai. You can see how easy it is to use but it is quite crowded especially during peak hours (5pm-7pm)

2.Set the timer to reduce air-conditioner usage

People can expand the use of renewable energy and turn our energy system into a cleaner with less dependence on it. By using more efficient equipment to reduce energy consumption, costs are reduced and equally important.

For example, my home use an air conditioner remote control to set the timer that will automatically turn off the air-con after 2 hours of bedtime. This could reduce the organic compound hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) release at the same time it could save the energy consumption and cost.

Go Green – Stop Global Warming

Global Warming have causes many problem for human but we human who make global warming happens. Many people have died because of disease or disaster. It also affects the economics of the country. However, we need to be reduce the global warming by using less gasoline, recycle and human should help to reduce global warming instead of making the earth temperature increased. Our generation should start taking care of the earth because in the next generation they will suffer if we do not do reduce global warming.
